Overview
- IndiGo signed a Memorandum of Understanding with BIAL on May 30 to develop a 31-acre MRO complex at Kempegowda International Airport.
- The new facility will be equipped to service both narrow-body and wide-body aircraft in IndiGo’s growing fleet of over 400 jets.
- It will become the airline’s largest Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul site, surpassing its existing workshops in Delhi and Bengaluru.
- IndiGo expects the MRO hub to improve aircraft availability, shorten maintenance turnaround times and deliver cost efficiencies.
- The project aligns with Karnataka’s drive to boost aerospace manufacturing and reinforces Bengaluru’s standing as a major aviation centre.
