  • Vikram Singh Mehta succeeds Dr. Venkataramani Sumantran after his five-year term overseeing post-pandemic recovery at the airline.
  • Mehta has served on the boards of Colgate Palmolive India, Mahindra & Mahindra and Larsen & Toubro; he holds master’s degrees from Oxford University and Tufts University.
  • Co-founder Rakesh Gangwal’s family trust sold a 5.72% stake in IndiGo via a block deal on May 27 for about Rs 11,564 crore.
  • IndiGo operates over 2,200 daily flights with a fleet of more than 400 aircraft serving over 90 domestic destinations alongside 40 international routes.
  • In financial year 2025, the airline added 58 new aircraft; it carried more than 118 million passengers.
