Overview
- IndiGo will start direct Delhi–Manchester flights on November 15, operating five times a week, and increase Mumbai–Manchester from three to four weekly flights from November 17.
- The Manchester services are being flown with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, part of IndiGo’s interim widebody strategy ahead of incoming A321XLRs.
- The airline has begun a thrice-weekly Mumbai–Copenhagen route and will launch daily Mumbai–London Heathrow flights from October 26.
- Rival capacity to the UK is also rising, with Air India moving Delhi–London Heathrow to four daily flights from October 26 and British Airways planning a third daily London–Delhi in 2026 subject to approvals.
- Manchester Airport says it is now the only UK airport outside London with direct links to both Mumbai and Delhi, with the India flights operating from its upgraded Terminal 2.
