Fortune's Run, an early access sci-fi immersive sim with a 90% positive rating on Steam, is now on indefinite hold after its lead developer revealed a three-year prison sentence.
The developer, known as Dizzie, disclosed that the legal case stems from a violent crime committed over five years ago, prior to their game development career.
Dizzie has been working solo on the game since the departure of the other developer, Arachne, who left the project after recovering from a medical procedure unrelated to the case.
A final update, including new missions, story sequences, puzzles, and numerous bug fixes, was released before the developer's upcoming incarceration, though it breaks existing save files and lacks QA testing.
While the game remains available for purchase, Dizzie expressed hope to resume development after their release, noting that most of the remaining work involves finalizing existing prototypes.
