India's 'Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar' Drive Concludes With Nearly 10 Crore Visits, 6.5 Crore Women Screened

Central coordination across NHM sites plus tertiary centres enabled mass preventive services at scale.

  • The two-week campaign, held from September 17 to October 2, hosted about 18.08 lakh health camps that logged a nationwide footfall approaching 10 crore.
  • According to the Health Ministry, 1.78 crore people were screened for hypertension and 1.72 crore for diabetes, while cancer screening covered over 37 lakh women for breast cancer and more than 19 lakh for cervical cancer.
  • Maternal and child health services included 62.60 lakh antenatal check-ups, vaccinations for over 1.43 crore children, and screening of more than 1.51 crore people for anaemia, alongside 85 lakh TB checks and 10.23 lakh sickle cell screenings.
  • Delivery spanned NHM camps as well as AIIMS and other Institutes of National Importance, Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, tertiary hospitals, medical colleges and private providers.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the effort as a model of public participation, while local updates reported AIIMS Jammu completing targeted camps and Andhra Pradesh holding 25,192 camps that served about 57.11 lakh beneficiaries.
