India's S Jaishankar to Attend Donald Trump's Presidential Inauguration

External Affairs Minister Jaishankar will represent India at the swearing-in of Donald Trump as the 47th U.S. President on January 20.

Donald Trump will be inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States on January 20, marking his second term in office after serving as the 45th President from 2017 to 2021.
India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will attend the ceremony in Washington, D.C., as India's official representative, following an invitation from the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee.
During his visit, Jaishankar is expected to meet members of the incoming U.S. administration and other international dignitaries attending the event.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has declined an invitation to the inauguration, while leaders from countries including Italy, Argentina, and El Salvador are expected to attend.
The inauguration coincides with Martin Luther King Jr. Day, making it the first time in this century a U.S. president is sworn in on a federal holiday.
