The ASI shows rising output, wages and investment with gains concentrated in a handful of states and a few industries.

Overview

  • Manufacturing output and value addition grew strongly with industrial output up about 7.8% to around Rs 165.2 lakh crore and manufacturing gross value added rising about 9.6% to roughly Rs 26.9 lakh crore in 2024-25.
  • Capital formation and firm returns strengthened as invested capital increased about 11.1% to Rs 75.6 lakh crore and net profit rose to about Rs 11.55 lakh crore, showing more funds committed to factories and higher firm-level earnings.
  • Total emoluments paid to registered factory workers climbed about 12.1% to near Rs 8.03 lakh crore, indicating rising wages alongside job growth and signaling firmer labour demand in the formal sector.
