Overview

  • The hydrogen-powered truck, flagged off by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, will transport coal from the Gare Pelma III Block to the state’s power plant.
  • Each truck is equipped with three hydrogen tanks, can carry up to 40 tonnes of cargo, and has a range of 200 kilometers.
  • The project is a joint initiative by Adani Natural Resources (ANR) and Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL), part of Adani Enterprises.
  • This initiative is part of Adani Group's broader decarbonization strategy, which includes green hydrogen production, autonomous mining technologies, and solar power integration.
  • The hydrogen trucks will gradually replace diesel vehicles in Adani’s mining logistics, reducing emissions, noise, and reliance on crude oil imports.
