India’s Financial Inclusion Drive Records Over 43,000 Camps in First Two Weeks

The campaign focuses on enhancing account security alongside boosting flagship scheme enrollment before its September 30 conclusion.

  • About 1.39 lakh new Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana accounts were opened since July 1 under the Department of Financial Services campaign.
  • KYC re-verification was completed for 96,383 existing PMJDY accounts and nominations were updated in 66,494 accounts to strengthen user safeguards.
  • Enrollments under the three Jan Suraksha schemes topped 4.8 lakh, including 1.83 lakh in PMJJBY, nearly 2.89 lakh in PMSBY and 67,668 in the Atal Pension Yojana.
  • The drive facilitated settlement of 1,665 insurance claims and delivered financial literacy sessions on digital fraud prevention and unclaimed deposit access.
  • District magistrates and participating banks will maintain momentum across about 2.70 lakh Gram Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies through September 30.
