Overview

• Annual defence output reached ₹1.50 lakh crore in FY 2024-25, an 18% increase from the previous year and a 90% rise since FY 2019-20.
• Defence Public Sector Undertakings and other PSUs accounted for 77% of total production, while the private sector’s share rose to 23% from 21%.
• Public sector production grew 16% year on year, while private-sector output jumped 28% in FY 2024-25.
• Defence exports climbed to a record ₹23,622 crore, marking a 12% year-on-year gain.
