Overview
- Gross GST collections for December 2025 totaled ₹1,74,550 crore, a 6.1% increase from a year earlier, according to official data released January 1.
- Net GST revenue stood at about ₹1.45 lakh crore, up 2.2% year on year after refunds rose 30.9% to ₹28,980 crore.
- Domestic GST receipts grew 1.2% to roughly ₹1.22 lakh crore, while GST from imports surged 19.7% to ₹51,977 crore.
- Compensation cess revenue fell to ₹4,238 crore from ₹12,003 crore a year earlier, reflecting the narrowed cess base following September’s policy changes.
- For April–December 2025, gross GST revenues reached ₹16.50 lakh crore, up 8.6% compared with the same period a year earlier.
