India’s Airports Brace for High Alert After Pakistani Terror Warning

  • BCAS’s August 4 advisory institutes maximum alert at all civil aviation installations from September 22 to October 2 based on intelligence of potential threats from a Pakistani terror group.
  • The civil aviation ministry’s security wing ordered immediate enhanced surveillance across airports, airstrips, helipads, flying schools and training institutes.
  • Stakeholders must enforce strict ID verification, 100% CCTV monitoring, intensified patrolling and comprehensive cargo and mail screening in coordination with local police, CISF and IB.
  • At Delhi’s IGI Airport, Quick Response Teams have been deployed, Secondary Ladder Point Checking is mandatory until August 20 and entry passes are suspended from August 10 to 20.
  • Airport operators are conducting multi-agency emergency drills and reviewing response plans to ensure rapid coordination during the high-alert period.
