Overview

  • National Highways Authority of India data show more than 1.4 lakh subscriptions on launch day and over 4 lakh activations by August 17, with 4.25 lakh tolls crossed fee-free.
  • Uttar Pradesh alone recorded about 30,000 activations and upwards of 21,000 toll-free crossings in the first two days, with 18,136 in the UP West zone and 3,106 in UP East.
  • The non-transferable pass offers either one year of toll-free travel or up to 200 crossings for private four-wheelers at a one-time cost of ₹3,000, activated online via the Rajmarg Yatra or NHAI portals.
  • NHAI officials estimate the average toll cost per trip will drop from roughly ₹100 to around ₹15, making the scheme more economical for frequent highway users.
  • Reports of scammers targeting FASTag customers have prompted consumer safety advice to avoid unknown links, use official channels and secure OTPs, PINs and wallet details.
