Indiana Teacher Found Dead in School Stairwell

Craig Jones, 47, was discovered at East Chicago Lighthouse Charter School after failing to meet a relative for pickup.

Craig Jones, 47, of Gary, Indiana, was found dead in a stairwell at East Chicago Lighthouse Charter School.
Jones had requested a ride home from a relative around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, after working late, but failed to appear for pickup.
Maintenance staff discovered Jones' body the following morning on the landing of a second-floor stairwell.
The cause of death is under investigation by the Lake County Coroner’s Office, with no foul play suspected at this time.
Jones' death has prompted a joint investigation by local police and the Lake County Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force.
