Indiana Secures Top Transfer QB Fernando Mendoza from Cal

Fernando Mendoza, a 6-foot-5, 225-pound sophomore quarterback, is transferring from Cal to Indiana, according to ESPN.
Mendoza threw for 3,004 yards, 16 touchdowns, and six interceptions in 2024, earning recognition as one of the top quarterbacks in the transfer portal.
Indiana beat out Georgia and Miami to land Mendoza, who is ranked No. 4 overall in ESPN's transfer portal rankings and No. 2 quarterback by 247Sports.
Mendoza will compete to fill the starting role left by Kurtis Rourke, who led Indiana to its first-ever College Football Playoff appearance this season.
Fernando joins his younger brother, Alberto Mendoza, who is also a quarterback on Indiana's roster and played sparingly as a freshman this season.
