Indiana Pacers Sign Aaron Nesmith to a 3-Year, $33 Million Contract Extension

24-year old Nesmith, who averaged 10.1 points and 3.8 rebounds per game in his first season with the Pacers, was traded from the Celtics in 2022.

The Indiana Pacers have signed a three-year, $33 million contract extension with Aaron Nesmith, who was traded to Indiana by the Boston Celtics in July of 2022.
During his first year with the Pacers, Nesmith averaged 10.1 points and 3.8 rebounds per game, with shooting percentages of 42.7 from the field and 36.6 from three-point range.
The 24-year-old Nesmith, a 14th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, joins a crowded Pacers backcourt that includes All-Star Tyrese Haliburton, Bennedict Mathurin and Buddy Hield.
Despite stiff competition in the backcourt, Nesmith's ability to perform well in different positions, including power forward thanks to his 6'10" wingspan, bodes well for his future with the Pacers.
Nesmith becomes the 10th player in the 2020 NBA Draft class to agree on a rookie scale contract extension, signifying the Pacers' commitment to developing their younger players.
