Indian Women’s U-23 Team Secures Medals in All 10 Categories to Claim Asian Championship Trophy

India now turns its focus to ongoing men’s freestyle finals with several athletes in contention for further medals.

  • Indian women’s U-23 squad claimed the Champion Trophy in Vung Tau by winning four gold, five silver and one bronze medal across all weight divisions.
  • Priyanshi Prajapat (50 kg), Reena (55 kg), Shrishti (68 kg) and Priya (76 kg) each topped their categories to bring home gold.
  • Neha Sharma (57 kg), Pragati (62 kg), Siksha (65 kg), Tanvi (59 kg) and Jyoti Berwal (72 kg) added silver medals while Hinaben Khalifa won bronze in the 53 kg class.
  • In Greco-Roman events Sumit captured gold in the 63 kg division and both Nitesh (97 kg) and Ankit Gulia (72 kg) secured bronze medals.
  • Vicky has already clinched gold in the 97 kg freestyle and India is targeting more podium finishes as the remaining bouts conclude.
