- Organisers confirmed Gulveer Singh, Abhishek Pal and defending women’s champion Lili Das for the elite Indian fields at the 20th Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon.
- Abhishek Pal, a two-time DHM winner, said he is chasing a sub-60-minute mark and reported that both he and Gulveer are training well without injuries.
- The current Indian record stands at 1:00:30, set by Avinash Sable at the 2020 Delhi Half Marathon, and no Indian has broken the one-hour barrier.
- The international lineup features defending champion Alemaddis Eyayu, compatriot Jemal Mekonen, Kenya’s Paris Marathon champion Benard Biwott, Olympic 5000m silver medallist Ronald Kwemoi on his half-marathon debut, and Isaac Kipkemboi.
- The event offers a prize purse of USD 260,000 along with a Rs 2 lakh bonus for a new Indian event record and an additional USD 2,000 for a sub-60 finish, and includes domestic contenders Sanjivani Jadhav and 2023 winner Kavita Yadav.
