Indian Railways Runs 380 Ganpati Specials as Central Railway Reaches 310 With New Mumbai–Sawantwadi Trips

Overview

  • Central Railway added four Lokmanya Tilak Terminus–Sawantwadi Road services (train nos. 01109/01110) on August 26–27, taking its Ganpati special count to 310.
  • Ganpati special trains have been operating since August 22 to handle the seasonal surge in travel to Maharashtra and Konkan destinations.
  • Reservations for trains 01109 and 01110 are open at computerized counters and on IRCTC, with unreserved coach tickets available through the UTS system.
  • Senior officers are stationed at CSMT, Dadar, LTT, Thane and Panvel, supported by commercial inspectors and more than 180 ticket-checking staff from August 22–30 for crowd management.
  • Ticketing capacity has been boosted with 30 Mobile-UTS devices and new windows opening from August 27 at Chinchpokli and Currey Road, alongside on-ground promotion teams for the UTS app.
