  • North Central Railway will start the enforcement at Prayagraj Junction, Prayagraj Chheoki, Subedarganj, Kanpur Central, Mirzapur, Tundla, Aligarh Junction, Govindpuri, and Etawah.
  • Passengers will have to weigh bags on electronic machines before entering platforms at these stations, according to officials.
  • Free allowances are set at 70 kg for First AC, 50 kg for Second AC, 40 kg for Third AC and Sleeper, and 35 kg for General/Second Sitting.
  • Oversized baggage that obstructs coach space will draw penalties, and items such as scooters or cycles are excluded from any free allowance.
  • Excess beyond the marginal allowance must be booked at the luggage office, with unbooked overage subject to fines reported at 1.5 times the normal rate as Railways underscores that these are existing rules being enforced.
