Overview
- Reservation charts for long-distance trains will now be finalized eight hours before departure instead of the previous four-hour window.
- From July 1, Tatkal ticket bookings on IRCTC platforms require authenticated user IDs with OTP verification via Aadhaar or DigiLocker by month’s end.
- Basic fares rise by 1 paisa per kilometre for non-AC coaches and 2 paise per kilometre for AC classes effective today.
