Indian Railways Elevates Rawal, Rana and Renuka Singh Thakur to Group B OSD Posts After World Cup Win

The promotions grant Level-8 gazetted status under an out-of-turn scheme recognizing their World Cup performances.

Overview

  • On December 1, the Railway Board approved out-of-turn promotions for Pratika Rawal, Sneh Rana and Renuka Singh Thakur.
  • All three have been appointed Officer on Special Duty (Sports) in Group B with Level-8 pay under the 7th CPC.
  • Northern Railway was instructed to implement the orders, elevating Rawal from senior clerk, Rana from commercial‑cum‑ticket clerk and Renuka from junior clerk.
  • The Railway Sports Promotion Board said the move provides financial security and adds administrative responsibilities.
  • Rawal was a leading run-scorer before an injury led to a special 16th medal arrangement by the ICC, and the trio were earlier felicitated at Rail Bhawan.
