Overview

• The first fully digital Ticket Examiner lobby became operational on August 29 at Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, launching a nationwide modernization drive.
• The system is already in use across multiple divisions and junctions, including Banaras, Sonpur, Ratlam, CSMT Mumbai, Pune, Solapur, Malda, Mysore, Bhopal, Madurai, Palghat, Trichy and Kota.
• Phased expansion is underway in the North Central, North Eastern and North Western zones, with the Jammu Division slated to join soon.
• Biometric sign-on/off ties Aadhaar-based fingerprint or iris scans to duty status, integrating with Hand Held Terminals and electronic rosters for live deployment and hour tracking.
• Railway officials cite encrypted storage and restricted access for attendance data, and project reduced absenteeism, fewer manual errors and delays, and future analytics to forecast staffing needs.
