Indian-Origin Family Found Dead in Massachusetts Mansion Amid Financial Woes

Authorities Investigate Suspected Domestic Violence Case as Family's Recent Bankruptcy and Foreclosure Come to Light

Rakesh Kamal, his wife Teena, and their 18-year-old daughter Ariana were found dead in their $5.45 million mansion in Dover, Massachusetts, in a suspected case of domestic violence.
The family had recently faced significant financial difficulties, with their mansion going into foreclosure last year and being sold for $3 million. Teena Kamal had filed for bankruptcy in September 2022.
Rakesh and Teena Kamal were previously involved in the management of an education systems company called EduNova, which was dissolved in December 2021.
The district attorney declined to speculate on the motive behind the killings and is awaiting the ruling from the medical examiner before determining whether to label the incident as a murder-suicide.
Ariana Kamal, a freshman neuroscience major at Middlebury College in Vermont, was remembered by her professor as 'brilliant' and 'deeply spiritual.'
