Indian Markets Closed Oct. 2, Diwali Muhurat Trading on Oct. 21

Muhurat trades on Oct. 21 will carry normal settlement obligations.

Overview

  • BSE and NSE will be shut on October 2 for Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra.
  • Trading will also pause on October 2 across currency, call money, forex and commodity markets, including MCX.
  • October 21 and 22 are Diwali market holidays, with a one-hour Muhurat session on October 21 from 1:45 pm to 2:45 pm and a 2:55 pm trade‑modification cutoff.
  • The NSE has clarified that orders executed during the Muhurat session will settle under standard obligations.
  • Regular trading resumes on October 3, with remaining 2025 holidays on November 5 and December 25.
