Indian Junior Hockey Team Set to Compete in Berlin Four Nations Tournament

Berlin will offer the squad match practice against Spain, Australia, hosts Germany in preparation for the Junior World Cup.

  • Hockey India named a 24-member squad led by captain Araijeet Singh Hundal with Amir Ali as vice-captain for the June 21–25 event.
  • The competition follows a single round-robin format in which the top two teams advance to a final and the others contest a classification match.
  • Goalkeeper duties will be shared by Bikramjit Singh and Vivek Lakra, and four standby players were also named as tour cover.
  • Coach PR Sreejesh said the tournament will challenge the side tactically, physically and mentally against top-quality opposition.
  • The Berlin event forms a key part of India’s preparation roadmap for the FIH Junior Men’s Hockey World Cup in Chennai and Madurai this November–December.
