Overview

  • Wirral Council inspections on April 24 and 25 uncovered mouse droppings under food prep areas, behind equipment and in an external store, triggering a zero hygiene rating and voluntary closure
  • Inspectors also noted incomplete staff training records, three days of missed opening and closing checks, a gap under the rear door, an unsecured sink and foul-smelling water beneath the dishwasher
  • Management introduced daily pest checks, sealed entry points, retrained staff and carried out structural and equipment repairs before applying for a re-inspection
  • On June 25 the follow-up inspection awarded the restaurant a food hygiene rating of four, with ‘good’ scores for hygienic food handling and safety management and ‘generally satisfactory’ cleanliness
  • Indian Hive has committed to maintaining and exceeding these standards and is inviting further feedback to ensure ongoing compliance
