  • The LocalCircles survey collected over 44,000 responses across 322 districts and found that 76% of passengers feel airlines focus more on marketing than on safety.
  • Sixty-four percent of respondents reported experiencing at least one rough flight in the past three years due to technical issues, diversions or turbulent takeoffs and landings.
  • In the past week, an Air India KochiMumbai flight veered off the runway, another Air India flight aborted departure from Delhi, an IndiGo aircraft made an emergency landing and a SpiceJet window frame detached midair.
  • The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau has submitted its preliminary report on last month’s Air India Boeing 787-8 crash in Ahmedabad that killed 241 passengers and 19 people on the ground.
  • The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has ordered inspections of Boeing components and a parliamentary panel has questioned regulator staffing and oversight in response to ongoing safety complaints.
