Indian Banks Log Broad Q2 Loan Growth as HDFC and Kotak Stand Out, IndusInd Contracts Quarter-on-Quarter

Overview

  • HDFC Bank reported 9.9% year-on-year growth in advances to about Rs 27.69 lakh crore and 12.1% growth in period-end deposits to roughly Rs 28.01 lakh crore, with advances under management at about Rs 28.6 lakh crore.
  • Kotak Mahindra Bank’s net advances rose 15.8% year-on-year to Rs 4.62 lakh crore and total deposits increased 14.6% to Rs 5.28 lakh crore, alongside an 11.2% rise in CASA to Rs 2.23 lakh crore.
  • IDBI Bank posted 15% growth in net advances to Rs 2.30 lakh crore and 9% growth in deposits to Rs 3.03 lakh crore, lifting total business to Rs 5.33 lakh crore.
  • UCO Bank said advances grew 16.67% year-on-year to Rs 2.31 lakh crore and deposits rose 10.87% to Rs 3.06 lakh crore, with the domestic CASA ratio at 38.11% and the credit-to-deposit ratio at 75.56%.
  • YES Bank’s loans increased 6.5% year-on-year to Rs 2.5 lakh crore as deposits reached about Rs 2.96–2.97 lakh crore with a CASA ratio of 33.8%, while IndusInd Bank reported roughly 2% sequential declines in both advances and deposits.
