Overview
- The four-day advanced surgical camp ran from November 18 to 22 at Command Hospital Northern Command with a specialised team from Army Hospital (Research & Referral) in New Delhi.
- More than 2,000 people were screened and over 400 complex procedures were completed, including cataract, glaucoma and retinal surgeries.
- Beneficiaries included serving personnel, dependents, Veer Naris and civilians from remote districts such as Udhampur, Doda, Rajouri, Poonch, Kishtwar and Ramban.
- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the closing ceremony and warned of adversary attempts to disrupt peace, citing a recently dismantled pan-India terror network.
- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi sent video messages of appreciation, as Brigadier S. K. Mishra’s team restored sight for patients including 96-year-old Rajkumari Devi and 72-year-old Surinder Singh.
