Overview

  • Four ATOR N1200 vehicles are operating in Amritsar and Sultanpur Lodhi under the district collector with coordination from SDRF, NDRF and the Army.
  • Video verified by agency reports shows the vehicle evacuating residents through knee-deep water in Amritsar on Thursday.
  • The manufacturer says the units were provided purely for humanitarian support, carrying out evacuations and delivering food and medicines as directed by local authorities.
  • The amphibious all-terrain platform uses giant low-pressure tyres for flotation, seats nine, carries up to 1,200 kg and runs on a diesel engine suited for sustained operations.
  • The vehicle was unveiled in 2024 and has been inducted under a reported 96‑unit Ministry of Defence order, following earlier deployments in challenging areas such as Sikkim.
