Overview

  • A Notice to Airmen has cleared civilian traffic for the exercise running July 23 to 25 across Barmer, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur sectors near the Pakistan frontier.
  • The drill under South Western Air Command will span parts of Rajasthan and Gujarat to strengthen operational readiness after May’s Operation Sindoor.
  • Frontline Rafale, Mirage 2000 and Sukhoi-30 jets will be supported by air defence systems and logistics platforms in simulated combat scenarios.
  • Pakistan has issued reciprocal NOTAMs for its central region until July 23 and for its southern zone on July 22 to 23 to reserve its airspace for parallel drills.
  • Preliminary statements indicate the exercise will involve two to three IAF commands to simulate multi-domain coordination across squadrons.
