Renuka Singh Thakur claimed her first five-wicket haul in ODIs, taking 5/29 and dismantling the West Indies batting lineup as they were bowled out for 103 in 26.2 overs.
India posted a commanding total of 314/9, with key contributions from debutant Pratika Rawal (40), Harleen Deol (44), and Jemimah Rodrigues (31).
Harmanpreet Kaur returned from injury to score 34 off 23 balls and achieved a milestone of 1,000 ODI runs as captain, becoming the second Indian woman after Mithali Raj to do so.
The second ODI in the three-match series is scheduled for December 24 at Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara, where India will aim to clinch the series after their dominant start.
