Overview

• The Archery Association of India selected top recurve and compound archers such as Deepika Kumari, Dhiraj Bommadevara, Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Abhishek Verma based on world rankings and recent national trials.
• The inaugural APL will run for 11 days in October at the Yamuna Sports Complex in New Delhi, featuring six franchise teams.
• Each eight-member squad will consist of four men and four women chosen through a draft system rather than an auction.
• Teams may include up to two foreign archers with at least one in the playing four, and matches will be contested under floodlights with recurve arrows shot at 70m and compound at 50m distances.
• World Archery and the Asian Archery Federation back the league, with organisers to confirm final franchise rosters and the full match schedule before the event.
