- Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya unveiled the baton in New Delhi alongside IOA president PT Usha and British High Commissioner Lindy Cameron.
- The baton is on public display at DLF Avenue Saket from November 12–14 before departing for Ahmedabad on November 14 for events scheduled November 15–17.
- Designed by visual artist Aaquib Wani, India’s three-sided baton features motifs of national flora, fauna including the peacock and elephant, and Indian scripts.
- For the first time, all 74 Commonwealth members have customised batons that will be united at Glasgow’s opening ceremony on July 23, 2026.
- Ahmedabad has been recommended to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games, with a final decision due at the Commonwealth Sport General Assembly in Glasgow on November 26; Mandaviya reiterated goals of top-10 by 2036 and top-five by 2047.
