Overview

• Foreign ministers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan joined India’s S. Jaishankar on June 6 for the fourth India–Central Asia Dialogue in New Delhi.
• India offered its UPI, Aadhaar and DigiLocker platforms to facilitate cross-border digital payments and bolster fintech cooperation.
• All participants condemned terrorism—including the April 22 Pahalgam attack—and committed to coordinated counter-terrorism and de-radicalisation efforts.
• Delegates noted that bilateral trade has risen to nearly $2 billion and called for diversified export baskets, long-term contracts and streamlined customs procedures to deepen economic ties.
• The dialogue highlighted plans to improve regional connectivity via the International North-South Transport Corridor and expanded use of Iran’s Chabahar port to reduce costs and transit times.
