Overview
- India are slated for five Tests, 18 ODIs and more than 25 T20Is across 2026, reflecting a white-ball emphasis.
- The year opens with New Zealand in India: ODIs on January 11, 14 and 18 (Vadodara, Rajkot, Indore) followed by five T20Is from January 21–31 across Nagpur, Raipur, Guwahati, Visakhapatnam and Thiruvananthapuram.
- The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup runs February 7–March 8 with India and Sri Lanka as co-hosts, the IPL window is March 26–May 31, and India then tour England for five T20Is (July 1–11) and three ODIs (July 14, 16, 19).
- June features Afghanistan in India for one Test and three ODIs with dates to be announced, and India’s postponed white-ball tour of Bangladesh is rescheduled for September.
- With Test and T20I retirements confirmed, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are set for ODI-only appearances in 2026, while Shubman Gill is expected to return as ODI captain subject to fitness.
