India Sets Sept. 23 as Ayurveda Day, Unveils 'People & Planet' Push for 10th Edition in Goa

The ministry uses the event to launch a misinformation counter, expanding Ayurveda into plant and animal health.

  • Union Ayush Minister Prataprao Jadhav announced the 10th Ayurveda Day will take place on September 23 at the All India Institute of Ayurveda in Goa.
  • The 2025 theme, “Ayurveda for People & Planet,” positions the programme to link human health with animal and plant health.
  • A new media platform, “Samhita Se Samvad,” will disseminate credible information on Ayurveda and counter false advertisements about ayurvedic medicines.
  • Planned activities include student outreach such as “Little Steps to Wellness,” the “Lead the Mislead” campaign, “Ayurveda Aahara for Obesity,” cancer awareness efforts, digital drives, inter-ministerial collaborations, and the National Dhanvantari Ayurveda Awards 2025.
  • Jadhav cited an NSSO study describing Ayurveda as the most practised treatment system in India and noted Rs 12,850 crore in investments to bolster holistic healthcare.
