India Runs Twin Tri‑Service Drills: Trishul in the West, Poorvi Prachand Prahar Set for Arunachal

The twin drills aim to validate multi‑domain interoperability under theatre‑style command to sharpen readiness across maritime, desert, high‑altitude fronts.

Overview

  • Exercise Trishul is underway along the Gujarat coast, the northern Arabian Sea, and the creek and desert sectors of Rajasthan and Gujarat, with activities scheduled through November 13.
  • The Navy has deployed about 20–25 warships and more than 40 fighters and support aircraft with amphibious assets, with INS Vikrant’s carrier group present and INS Jalashwa supporting landings alongside Coast Guard and BSF elements.
  • On land, over 25,000 Army personnel are conducting network‑centric manoeuvres such as Exercise Maru Jwala, integrating ISR, electronic warfare, cyber capabilities, and indigenous systems.
  • Poorvi Prachand Prahar is slated for November 11–15 in Mechuka, Arunachal Pradesh, to trial high‑altitude joint operations featuring special forces, unmanned platforms, precision systems, and networked operations centres.
  • Both drills are part of a stepped‑up sequence after Operation Sindoor to refine joint tactics and deterrence posture, with Pakistan separately issuing NAVAREA and NOTAM advisories for its own firing and air activity in the Arabian Sea.
