India Reopens PLI Applications for AC and LED Components From Sept. 15 to Oct. 14

The move responds to strong industry interest to scale up domestic production of key components.

Overview

  • Applications are accepted only on the official portal (https://pliwg.dpiit.gov.in) and will close on Oct. 14 with no late submissions.
  • The window is open on unchanged terms to both new applicants and existing beneficiaries, including group firms shifting or applying in different target segments under scheme guidelines.
  • Approvals in this fourth round receive incentives only for the remaining scheme tenure, with new GP-2 entrants eligible for up to two years and GP-1 shifts for one year.
  • The white goods PLI, notified in 2021, carries a Rs 6,238 crore outlay through FY2028-29 and offers 4–6% incentives on incremental sales of approved components.
  • So far, 83 beneficiaries have committed Rs 10,406 crore toward AC and LED value-chain manufacturing, including components not yet produced domestically in sufficient quantity.
