India Rejects Canadian Report Alleging Government Role in Sikh Leader’s Killing

India's external affairs ministry strongly rejected the report, calling it a 'ludicrous smear campaign' and criticizing Canada for relying on unverified claims from unnamed sources.
The allegations have further strained India-Canada relations, which have been deteriorating since Canada accused Indian diplomats of involvement in Nijjar's killing last month.
India has consistently denied any involvement in Nijjar's death and has accused Canada of failing to provide evidence supporting its claims.
Following earlier accusations, both countries expelled multiple diplomats, escalating tensions between the two nations.
