Overview
- Starting June 1, RoDTEP benefits resume for goods manufactured under Advance Authorisation, Export-Oriented Units and Special Economic Zones.
- The scheme refunds embedded central, state and local levies on inputs used for export goods, filling gaps left by other incentive programmes.
- Total disbursements under RoDTEP have topped Rs 57,976.78 crore as of March 31, and the government has earmarked Rs 18,233 crore for FY 2025-26.
- Restored benefits span 10,795 HS lines for SEZs, EOUs and AA exports, matching the scheme’s 10,780-line coverage for domestic tariff area shipments.
- The reinstatement follows pressure from industry groups and coincides with India’s new free trade agreement with the UK as it pushes to finalise a US deal before steep tariffs return.
