India Ramps Up Aquaculture as Sikkim Hits Record Output and Assam Opens Aqua Tech Park

  • Sikkim’s fisheries department adopted modern technologies—recirculating aquaculture systems, biofloc tanks and digital licensing—to boost production and market access.
  • Assam inaugurated its first Aqua Tech Park in Sonapur to showcase aquaponics, recirculatory systems and insect-based feeds for state-level self-reliance.
