Operation Sindoor

Overview

  • The Modi government has finalized seven all-party delegations to advocate India's zero-tolerance stance on terrorism following Operation Sindoor.
  • Delegation leaders include MPs from both ruling and opposition parties, such as Shashi Tharoor, Ravi Shankar Prasad, and Kanimozhi Karunanidhi.
  • The Congress has criticized the government for bypassing three of its proposed nominees, calling the selection process insincere and politically motivated.
  • Operation Sindoor, launched on May 6–7, targeted nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians.
  • The diplomats and MPs will visit key global capitals, including members of the UN Security Council, to counter Pakistan’s narratives and strengthen international support for India’s anti-terrorism efforts.
