India Prepares 75,000 Health Camps as PM Modi Set to Launch Swasth Nari Drive on Sept. 17

States finalize logistics to expand services for women and children through public‑private participation.

Overview

  • The Health Ministry says the Sept. 17–Oct. 2 campaign will stage 75,000 camps at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Community Health Centres and other public facilities focused on maternal and child care.
  • Andhra Pradesh has mapped camps to 10,032 Health and Wellness Centres, 1,144 PHCs, 560 urban health centres and 175 CHCs with online patient registration and invitations to private hospitals.
  • Camps will host multi‑specialty kiosks offering haemoglobin, blood pressure and blood sugar checks, cancer and TB screening, child vaccinations and nutrition counselling.
  • Targeted equity measures include sickle cell anaemia screening in tribal areas in Andhra Pradesh with issuance of treatment cards for regular care.
  • Haryana plans a state kickoff in Rohtak led by JP Nadda and CM Nayab Singh Saini with 122 specialized CHC camps plus free spectacles and new obesity clinics, while IMA and DMA publicly back the drive and Anganwadis observe Poshan Maah.
