Overview
- The Department of Posts published the first Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) merit list on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, and made circle-specific PDF lists available on indiapost.gov.in.
- Shortlisting is automatic and based on marks or converted grades from the Secondary School (10th) examination, with percentages calculated to four decimal places.
- Candidates should open their postal circle PDF on the official site and check fields such as Division Office, Post ID, Post Name, community, registration number and percentage to confirm selection.
- Applicants whose names appear must report to the Divisional Office shown in the PDF and present original documents plus two self-attested sets, a government medical certificate and any category certificates by October 27, 2026.
- The drive covers 23,757 notified vacancies; successful verifications will lead to provisional engagement and required pre-engagement formalities, and India Post may publish further merit lists and updates on the portal.
