Overview
- On Monday, the Directorate General of Trade Remedies opened cases into mobile phone covers from China, polymer-based solar encapsulants excluding EVA from China, South Korea, Vietnam and Thailand, and the rubber chemical intermediate 4-ADPA from China and the European Union.
- Officials said evidence indicates dumped imports are causing material injury to Indian industry, with estimated dumping margins above de minimis in the mobile covers case.
- NDTV reported additional investigations into organophosphonate acids such as HEDP and ATMP and into clear float glass from Malaysia and Indonesia, and noted that EVA encapsulants are excluded because they already face duties.
- The probes cover an investigation period from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025, with injury analysis spanning FY22–25 except FY22–24 for 4-ADPA.
- Authorities will use Indian cost estimates when reliable Chinese price data are unavailable, and no provisional duties have been imposed as final determinations are pending.
