A CRPF-chaired committee will draft relaxed fitness norms in the coming months

Overview

  • Home Secretary Govind Mohan announced that CAPF officers and jawans who suffer permanent disabilities in operations will continue serving until retirement with full pay, allowances and due promotions.
  • The Ministry of Home Affairs will distribute a one-time basic financial package to personnel rendered permanently disabled during operations, funding it through existing government schemes or CAPF budgets.
  • Injured CAPF members will receive world-class medical care, including advanced limb replacement surgeries, to restore mobility as far as possible.
  • A committee led by CRPF Director General Gyanendra Pratap Singh is tasked with drafting relaxed fitness standards and finalizing implementation modalities in the coming months.
  • The initiative builds on the CAPF’s role in reducing Naxal violence and reflects wider modernization drives across India’s internal security forces.
