Overview
- Train 27575 will leave Howrah at 18:20 and reach Kamakhya at 08:20, with the return 27576 departing Kamakhya at 18:15 and arriving Howrah at 08:15, cutting the trip to about 14 hours with defined halts including Malda Town, New Jalpaiguri and Rangiya.
- The 16-coach rake seats about 823 passengers across 11 AC 3-tier, 4 AC 2-tier and 1 First AC coach, with reported end-to-end fares around Rs 2,300 (3AC), Rs 3,000 (2AC) and Rs 3,600 (1AC).
- Designed for 180 kmph and cleared to run up to 130 kmph on this corridor, the train features Kavach automatic protection, CCTV, emergency talk-back units, automatic doors and accessibility provisions.
- Service will operate six days a week using two rakes under Northeast Frontier Railway, with Wednesday off ex-Kamakhya and Thursday off ex-Howrah as per the published plan.
- Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has indicated an inauguration around January 17–18, likely by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as part of a wider rollout that includes eight Amrit Bharat Express services and a 2026 reform drive of “52 reforms in 52 weeks.”
