  • The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts heatwave conditions in northwest India, including Rajasthan, Punjab, and Madhya Pradesh, until May 1, with temperatures surpassing 43°C in some areas.
  • Heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds up to 60 km/h are expected in northeastern states such as Nagaland, Manipur, and Tripura, as well as in Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal, through early May.
  • Delhi is under a yellow alert as temperatures are predicted to drop by 3–4°C, with light rain and thunderstorms providing temporary relief from the heatwave starting April 29.
  • Kerala is likely to experience heavy rainfall until April 30, while scattered rain and thunderstorms are forecast for parts of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh through May 4.
  • A western disturbance approaching the Western Himalayan region from May 2 is anticipated to bring cooler temperatures and increased rainfall across northern India.
